Isabelle has specialised and practised exclusively in family law for 15 years.
Isabelle deals with the full range of family law matters, including separation and divorce, financial provision, cohabitation claims and cases involving children. She also regularly advises clients in relation to Cohabitation Agreements and Pre-Nuptial and Post Nuptial Agreements.
Isabelle is well versed in property law, succession law and company law which allows her to think creatively when dealing with more complex and novel family law cases.
Isabelle is well liked and well respected amongst her peers and by clients and other professional advisors. Isabelle has been recommended in the Legal 500 for a number of years, more recently being described as “adept in a wide range of family issues” and “extremely knowledgeable and aware of up to date changes in matrimonial law”. Isabelle is always well prepared. Her approach is thorough and tenacious and she works tirelessly to secure the best possible outcome for each of her clients. Her advice is comprehensive but pragmatic and always tailored to the individual. Isabelle regularly works with other professional advisors and Counsel in relation to more complex cases.
Isabelle aims to resolve family law disputes as painlessly for her clients as possible and promotes the use of collaborative family law and mediation where appropriate. However, she is also a confident and experienced litigator, appearing regularly in the Sheriff Court and having assisted in the preparation of cases calling in the Court of Session.
Isabelle is a past Vice President of the Aberdeen Bar Association.
